What an experience – shopping at Canal walk last night – we arrived at 6pm and only got out
Of the centre after 9pm.  We usually only take an hour to whip around.

So many people think because they have no life and nothing to do with themselves that they can
Linger around – or walk 3 abreast across the corridors – or park their trolley across the aisle.
We even had one person thinking she could take a break and she actually came up to our trolley and leaned her arms on it and stood there ? Hello – my bubble – my space ???

Pick n pay is always a nightmare at the end of the month – they have not yet realized that all
cash desks should be manned.  The lines of people jam up the end of the aisles and no-one can move.
The only poor teller that was trying her best was Zulfa Bester – and she was fighting a war – alone.
Unfortunately for her – by the time I got the cash desk – she was the one having to deal with my anger.  The two couples in front of me did not help either, as the first set decided to have a family discussion while standing in the way at the till – they also decided to draw a lot of cash – while
the rest of the people waited and waited.
The next husband and wife proceeding to dig out a bubbly chocolate out of the 7 or 8 carrier bags and then wanted it credited - ?? for heavens sake just eat the dam chocolate.   Poor Zulfa was beyond flustered and had been trying to catch the attention of the supervisor for ages -  The supervisor – Christene Adams gave us a whole lot of
attitude and a long story about staff not arriving for work due to transport problems.
She was laughing and joking – and did not seem at all interested in trying to sort out the mess. If your staff has not come in, you as the manager need to step up and get working!

Come on Pick n Pay – surely you have heard of “Next Customer Please” ??? so that the next person
gets served ?? instead of opening a till and everyone rushes like bats from hell – and the ones waiting
with manners are still kept waiting.  Could you please educate your staff – train your staff or simply
employ staff who actually have some ambition, and maybe have a list of casuals who can come in
when needed ? The example of customer service and correct training and manners should steam from the manager on duty. Perhaps thats Pick n Pay Canals problem.  Our society is turning into a free for all and if the levels of service drop,so does society as a whole.  Pick and pay you were at the forefront – in days of old – but you are lagging behind .   I would rather pay a little extra and go to Woolworths or Spar, where the staff are
trained correctly and they look you in the eye and know how to treat their customers. And when there is an issue, which is few and far between, the manager is apologetic and sorts it out!
